Syngenta appoints dedicated Forestry Business Support Manager

Syngenta has appointed the highly experienced Nikolaus Mohrenschildt as European Forestry Business Support Manager. The new position continues the company’s expansion of dedicated team to serve the forestry industry across Europe. 

Based in Austria, Nikolaus (53) brings a wealth of practical experience and knowledge of forest practices and production methods, including spraying, harvesting and plant raising, along with an extensive career in crop protection and R&D. 

As a pioneer of innovative techniques for advancing forestry and agro production his roles have included introducing new crop protection products, global fresh produce marketing, restructuring a forest equipment business and starting an R&D field trial business unit in Austria.

Alongside his business interests Nikolaus has continued to maintain his family farm forestry operation – giving him a unique insight into the industry’s challenges and potential for the implementation of new solutions. 

Commenting on his appointment, Nikolaus said: “Healthy and active forests have a hugely important economic and social value across Europe. 

"Forests also play a vital role as part of our strategy to combat climate change through CO2 storage and flood mitigation, as well as providing an essential habitat resource."

Nikolaus will be working to support Syngenta forestry teams in countries across Europe and collaborating directly with key customers to further develop recent product launches and the planned introduction of new innovations and solutions over the coming years.
